Which assistants can I use?

Anything that speaks MCP. We build and test against Claude and ChatGPT, and because the standard is open, assistants that adopt it later will connect the same way.

Do I need an API key?

No. You paste one address and sign in with your normal Native account. There is no key to create, store or accidentally share.

Do I need to be a developer?

No. In Claude or ChatGPT it is a name and a link in your settings, and you are done. Claude Code takes one line in a terminal if that is where you work.

Can it post something without asking me?

No. It can write, change and schedule, and every one of those asks you to confirm before it happens. You see the post before you agree to it.

Can it reach my other brands, or anyone else's?

It reaches exactly what your own login reaches, and nothing outside your own workspaces. Your access is checked on every request, not once when you connect.

Whenever you like. Remove the connector in your assistant and its access stops immediately. Your Native account and everything in it stay exactly as they were.

The connection is part of Native. Working with your content through it needs an active plan, the same as working in the app does.

Codex

CLI, IDE extension and app

Codex needs Native's client ID as well as the address. Three steps, about two minutes.

Open ~/.codex/config.toml, or create it if it is not there. Put this line at the very top, above any line in square brackets such as [mcp_servers]. If the file already has a line starting with mcp_oauth_callback_port, replace it with this one, since two of them make the file unreadable. A line below a bracketed heading belongs to that section, and Codex will not find it there.

Run the command below. It opens the Native login in your browser. Sign in and approve.

Start a new Codex session. Native's tools should be listed.

The Codex CLI, the Codex IDE extension and the Codex desktop app all read ~/.codex/config.toml, so this one setup covers all three. These steps are for Codex only: the client ID works with Codex's sign-in and nothing else.

If it does not work

Already added Native to Codex without a client ID? Run codex mcp remove native first, then step 2.

“Registration failed: HTTP 400”: The client ID is missing. Run codex mcp remove native and redo step 2.
“Callback URL mismatch”: The port line is missing or sits inside a [section]. Fix step 1, then run codex mcp login native.
“Address already in use”: An earlier login is still waiting on port 17871. Close that terminal or press Ctrl-C, then run codex mcp login native.
Closed the browser before finishing: Run codex mcp login native.
Signed in but no tools: Run codex mcp logout native, then codex mcp login native.

You stay in charge

You sign in with the Native account you already have, so the assistant reaches exactly what you reach and nothing else. Before it changes anything, it asks you to confirm.
