Stories get a picture of their own

Meta shows the same ad in a feed, in Stories and in square spots like Marketplace. One picture cannot fit all three, so an ad Native designs now gets one for each.

What's new

• Ads Native designs for you, in chat, in the ad wizard or by Autopilot, now go to Meta as one ad with all three pictures

• Native redraws the 9:16 and 1:1 from the 4:5 design instead of cropping it

• Native aims to keep text and logos in the 9:16 clear of the top and bottom strips that Stories covers

• Change the 4:5 picture and Native remakes the other two from it. Stories and square pictures made from an older design are never sent

• The ad editor's preview gets "Stories (Fb)", "Stories (Ig)" and "Square" tabs once those pictures are ready, so you see what will run before you spend

• Ads built on your own photo, and posts you turn into ads, still go out in 4:5 only. When you publish one alone, the publish dialog says so

• Since 21 September, an ad Native designed waits for its Stories and square pictures before going out, unless your AI budget is used up
